For larger home removals, please call our office or fill out our Get a Quote Form to arrange a time for us to visit your property. Our surveyor will come and assess the job and provide a detailed fixed price quote. As a result, you won’t get any unexpected bills at the end of your move.
We can, and have, carried out next day home removals. However, for your sanity as well as ours, this isn’t advised! Ideally, we would require around two weeks’ notice.
Of course! We offer a wide range of boxes and packing materials and are always happy to give packing advice. Especially if it’s your first major move. Similarly, if you’d like to save time and ensure your items are securely packaged and protected during the move, get in touch for a quote.
Yes. We can provide a tailored insurance package for each individual move. Alternatively, you may wish to use your own household cover.
Yes. We are licensed waste carriers and can dispose of unwanted items of furniture, recycle, or take to a charity shop.
We have a fleet of vehicles ranging from 3.5 tonne Luton vans up to 12 tonne trucks.
Our Luton vans hold approximately 700 cubic feet in volume. Our trucks hold approximately 1500 cubic feet. See our vehicles page.
Our removal quotes are based on a number of factors. Location, distance of move, complexity of move (which floor etc.), size of the vehicle needed, number of ‘gentlemen’, and amount of time needed. Packing services, boxes and packaging, and storage solutions, are additional and costed accordingly.
Yes, we carry out moves to France.
We don’t carry out international moves, but we can refer you onto one of our shipping partners.
We can move upright and grand pianos from ground floor to ground floor or to other floors if there is a lift available. For any piano move where there is a requirement to move up or down stairs, we work closely with one of the industry leading piano movers.
If your flat is on the top floor with no lift and a narrow staircase, moving large items in and out can be tricky and time consuming. It adds the risk of damaging the communal areas. We can provide a truck mounted external platform elavator, capable of lifting furniture up to the seventh floor, with a weight capacity of 400kg.
If parking is difficult outside your property or is restricted to residents only, then you will need to let our team know when you contact us for a quote. If required we will organise a parking suspension to allow us to park our vehicles outside your property. This is included in our service. If you don’t let us know in advance about parking restrictions then any parking fines incurred will be added to your final bill.

If you’re based in central London and we need to enter the congestion zone, we’ll just add the cost to your bill so you don’t need to worry about it.
You can pay with any major credit or debit card, or by our new system called Gocardless. We can set up an automated payment using your bank account number and sort code. Please note, Gentleman & A Van Ltd is VAT registered so this cost will be added to your bill.
That depends on how much space you require and for how long. Simply come in to the office at our Wimbledon Self Storage facility or give us a call on 020 8874 4283
No, you can simply walk in off the street and our team will allocate a space to you there and then! Alternatively if you know you need a large space, for example if you are storing all your belongings during a house renovation, then why not give us a call beforehand and pre-book to give yourself the peace of mind that your space is reserved.
You can access your self-storage at any time between the hours of 8am-9pm seven days a week using your secure pin code to access the building.
Our site is fully manned between 8am-6pm on Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm on Saturdays, and we have a team there to help you move items in and out of your storage unit, locate items in your unit or just to offer advice when needed.
How big do you need it to be? The great news is that we can tailor our self-storage units to meet your needs. We can offer anything from a locker to a 300 sq ft unit depending on how much you need to store. We can even move the walls to accommodate very large items if required.
We can set up a direct debit for you using our Gocardless system.
