How do I get a quote?

For small and simple home removals, we can quote over the phone on 0845 2263525 or by email info@gentlemanandavan.co.uk.
For larger removal jobs, please call our office or fill out our Free Quote Request Form to arrange a time to visit your property to give you a full quote.

How much notice do I need to give?

We can, and have carried out next day home removals, but we advise 2 weeks notice.

Can I do my own packing?

Yes of course! We offer a wide range of boxes and packing materials and are always happy to lend packing advice – especially if it’s your first major move. If however, you’d like to save time and a maybe a little back strain get in touch for a quote.

Will my move be insured?

Yes. We have a standard ‘Goods In Transit’ Insurance of up to £20,000 per van-load, which is included at no extra cost. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions. If you require any extra cover, this can be arranged.

What are the quotes based on?

Our removal quotes are based on a number of factors including location, distance moving, complexity of move (which floor etc), size of the vehicle needed, number of ‘gentlemen’ and amount of time needed. Packing Services, boxes and packaging and storage solutions are additional and costed accordingly.

Do you do European removals?

Yes. We’ll happily help you move to anywhere within the EU (European removals). There’s plenty to organise so please call our office or fill out our Free Quote Request Form to arrange a time to visit your property to give you a full quote.

Do I need to organise parking?

If parking is difficult outside your property or is residents only, you will need to contact your local council and organise a parking suspension. Any parking fines incurred will be added to your final bill. Contact list of London Borough Parking Departments

Do I need pay the congestion charge?

If you’re based in central London and we need to enter the congestion zone, we’ll just add the cost to your bill (which is £10 at time of writing).

How do I pay?

You can pay with any major credit or debit card. We take card details at the point of booking, with full payment taken once your home removal has been completed. N.B. Gentleman & a Van Ltd is VAT registered, so this cost will be added to your bill.
